well i did finish the babydoll i started a few weeks back. B seemed to like it. Garet had a lot of fun picking at me about her. yes, she's a little crooked (everwhere) and yes she looks like a bowling pin- but she's my creation and just like all of us- her flaws make her special.

and here comes..................30!

i have 3 weeks left to be in my twenties. i find that i am not happy about that little fact. But it is a fact and (as long as i'm alive) i have to face it. it's depressing to realize that there are so many things that i havent accomplished that at 20- i thought would happen within an decade. but that's ok- i'll just sit back and reminisce about the last thirty years and on august 16th- start a list of new goals

i ordered this book this morning- we'll see if i can atleast get a good laugh out of it. after all, i have a lot to look forward to in the next ten years.

4th of July Weekend

this post prolly looks a lil crazy!- i cannot get it to do what i want!

we had a great 4th weekend. saturday, garet and i got up and drove to the beach. of course, we had to eat at Andy's - i'm not complaining. and while we were there, we had a pretty lil girl join us- B. we left and went to the condo. i was so anxious to get out in the sun, but i guess i was the only one. finally about an hour and a half later we went down to the pool. B didnt give me a hard time at all about putting on a swim suit- she was actually pretty excited about it - and the new cover up i got for her. she said "you gots one too, ann?"

she did so good the whole time we were at the pool. though she did not like when other kids got a hold of her shovels and bucket- we then had the discussion that if you dont want to share- then dont leave them where they can get to them. simple enough. she kept them very close after that! after a bath, a lil play, and the monsters (Monsters, Inc) she was fast asleep. we all went to eat and B and I even got to dance listening to a band. It was a good day.

Sunday, we were back eating at Andy's. back to the condo to pack up and then we headed to Port St Joe where we planned to hang out on the boat and watch fireworks. garet and i thought we had done something - we figured if we got on the road right after lunch B would get her nap in and be in a good mood when we arrived. well, she did take a nap the whole way- the good mood- not so much. she was soooooo moody all day. i even recall him saying on the way "this worked out perfect". next time we need to keep our mouth shut! all in all- we had a another great day and we saw some pretty awesome fireworks. i was not looking forward to giving B a bath on the boat- well not a bath- a shower-it wasnt bad and only took a few short minutes.thank goodness for removable shower heads!!

monday we woke up to nasty weather. bummer. we got showers and began to unload the boat and load up the truck. we drove over to WindMark beach to check out the house garet's parent's rented for vacation starting this weekend. let me just say- WOW! it is gorgeous. B and I will be headed back on Friday to check it out some more!!

we got home and it was all completely back to our normal world. B wanted to watch the monsters over and over - with a short break for nemo. time for bed didnt go over very well, but after a little wetting accident and a few tears she told me "i'll get in my bed if you pat me". DEAL!

My mom taught me how to embroider and sew when i was little. i can remember her buying those iron on designs and we would embroider birds and flowers and she would turn them into pillows. well since she passed away i have aqcuired her sewing machine and embroidering hoops. the other night i decided i would give it a go and see if i could at least make a decent letter and then that got me wanting to make B a baby doll. I'm still a little lost on the baby doll, but i'll pick her back up and finish her at some point. i sat with pride remembering momma teaching me. i would do anything to sit with her and make some more of those pillows. i cherish that ol' memory that i had long forgotten about.

so B was in a fashion show with her grandmaw and we all made the paper. Now we just have to figure out how she's going to spend her money!

an afternoon stroll....

one afternoon, garet and i decided to go for a walk. we live a couple of blocks from the river so we filled our solo cups with beer, grabbed my camera and struck out that way. i've lived in bainbridge now for three years and i'm always seeing something i never noticed or just didnt know was there.
